J&R Food Service are a family-owned business, located in Exeter and have been successfully trading as a local Catering wholesaler for over 30 years.

It’s not just the pubs and restaurants that make Shaldon’s food and drink scene special,it’s how the village lives and eats. You might start the day with a pastry from the bakery, pick up fresh fish from the quay, or head to the local butcher for a BBQ on the beach. All our food waste & compostable packaging is sent to an anaerobic digestion plant in North Devon which is turned into renewable energy of which we buy back for our energy source. The Clipper Cafe is situated in the heart of Shaldon, right on the riverfront. With beautiful views from your table, it’s not just the food that gets the attention. The Clipper is open 7 days a week and serves food and drink from 8am until 9pm. With tables downstairs, upstairs, on our balcony or large river terrace, there’s room for everyone and a warm welcome awaits you!

They source, blend and roast their own coffee beans and are a family-run business with an unrivalled passion for both quality and service. They also supply us with their lovely own brand of Sparkling Elderflower. Forest Produce Limited supply us with specialist quality ingredients with uncompromising standards, quality and reliability. They supply us with gourmet ingredients that are not readily available elsewhere. They work closely with Taste of the West, supplying them with a distribution hub for their Members’ Range, some of which we use at The Strand Cafe. One of the best independent cafes with stunning estuary views is in Shaldon, the Clipper Café. The daily changing electronic menu allows customers to view the menu in real time and also pre order in advance to avoid any delays at busy periods…. No queing & means customers are served within 10 minutes of ordering…. Devonia Water is bottled at source in a peaceful valley in South Devon.
